Online Casino Refuses to Pay Player
It so happens that a player can win a substantial amount of cash with just a couple of pounds when wagering at online casinos.
Online Casino Refuses to Pay
Bruno Venturi is such a player. In 2025 after a session of nearly 3 hours he won an impressive £650,000 with just £17. The casino said the amount won was due to a software glitch in their system at the time and as a result refused to pay out. Venturi decided to seek legal advise and took the operator to court.
The online casino in question is EuroBet where Venturi played the game of Sixty Seconds. This is a lottery-style game where players can choose from several different betting options. He wagered with a very small amount of cash and managed to hit the jackpot prize, until he accrued a massive £650 000.
Meanwhile EuroBet online casino claimed that it was mathematically impossible for Venturi to hit the jackpot consecutive times. A representative of the operator said that a software bug was responsible and that the element of chance had little impact. Hence the reason the casino refused to payout Venturi’s winnings.
Simon Brown the High Court Judge who presides over the court case said that it reminded him of the 1935 film ”The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo”. Judge Brown has not made a ruling as yet.
OUCH!!! The casino should be forced to pay the player, he won fair and square! The casino was quick to take his money, it is their problem that there was a software glitch, they should take that issue up with Microgaming and get compensation from them [Microgaming]. This is one of the things that discourages me tremendously about playing online. I hope the judge rules in favour of you buddy.
Hey Jonny,
Just letting you know that the casino in question is actually not a Microgaming casino and they are no longer in operation.
